His community involvement includes two mayoral appointments to the Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority (1998-2006), where he served as 2000-2001 Chairman of the Board of Directors, and served six years as Chair of the Parking Operations and Finance Committee.
In 2010, Ron was elected Secretary of the Board of Directors of the newly-formed Main Street Business Improvement Zone (MSBIZ), a non-profit organization voluntarily funded by a Zone property owners surtax, to improve services and appearance in the 100, 200 and 300 block streetscape of South
Main Street in Ann Arbor.
In 2011 Ron joined a City of Ann Arbor Downtown Development Authority (DDA) Leadership and Outreach committee charged to plan for the sale of City-owned commercial real estate parcels in the Central Business District of Ann Arbor.
Ron attended Central Michigan University and The University of Michigan, and has pursued additional professional training in accounting, economics, urban planning, real estate marketing, taxation, and German.
